Accra Hearts of Oak to use Swedru Park as home ground

Accra Hearts of Oak settle on the Swedru Park as the home ground for the 2017/2018 season of the Ghana Premier League

The Public Relations Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak Kwame Opare Addo has confirmed the Swedru Park as home ground for the 2017/2018 season of the Ghana Premier League.

The Accra-based giants have now settled at the edifice in the Central Region after the original home ground Accra Sports Stadium needed to be closed down for renovation ahead of the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations to be held in Ghana.

The Phobian Club initially considered the Tema Sports Stadium to house them for the upcoming season.

However, the club chose the Swedru Stadium after beating All blacks 1-0 in a pre-season friendly to a huge crowd which came in support of Accra Hearts of Oak.

Kwame Opare Addo made that confirmation in an interview with FNN TV

Accra Hearts of Oak placed third in the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League season.

The side also missed out on continental football after losing to eternal rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the 2017 MTN FA cup final.
