The Black Stars have been without a coach since Israeli Avram Grant resigned from the post in February after an uninspiring Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
The GFA subsequently constituted a committee to spearhead the search for a new coach, and it is reported that several coaches have already applied for the job.
George Afriyie – who doubles as the chairman of the Black Stars management committee – has disclosed that the committee is still working, while suggesting that a new coach is set to be hired within the next few weeks.
Speaking to Asempa FM, George Afriyie said: "We are still in the process of naming our new coach and latest by April I can assure you we will have a new coach.
"They will be shortlisted and go through an interview procedure before we settle on the new man.
"The committee will make recommendation to the Executive Committee who will have the final say on the report.
"They can either approve or reject what we present to them. So lets be patient and wait a little longer."
The BlackStars are currently being managed by Maxwell Konadu, who has been tasked to take charge on an interim basis.
