Appiah was re-appointed as Ghana coach in April – taking over from Israeli coach Avram Grant – after the Black Stars’ failed bid to win the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The technical team, which also consists of Stephen Appiah, Ibrahim Tanko, Maxwell Konadu and Richard Kingston among others, started work in May after being unveiled by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

However, despite serving as Ghana coach for the past two months, Appiah and his backroom staff are yet to be paid their salaries.

Last week, the sports ministry revealed that it will hold talks with GNPC, who are the official sponsors of the Black Stars, on how to clear the unpaid salaries.

Information gathered by Pulse.com.gh indicates that Kwesi Appiah and his backroom staff are set to receive their salaries after positive talks were held between GNPC and the sports ministry on Tuesday.

The board of GNPC has finally agreed to release funds for the payment of the technical team, despite earlier complaining of financial restraints.

Kwesi Appiah and his backroom staff have already overseen three Black Stars games following their appointment.
