Daniliants was appointed just days before the trip to the Allianz Arena, where Joshua Kimmich struck a brace to go with goals from Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and Juan Bernat.

The 63-year-old said his team had never come up against opposition of Bayern's quality, but rued recent changes.

"As you know we have had a lot of change recently - we had to change our coach because he doesn't have a licence," Daniliants said, via UEFA.

"The level we played today was completely different to what we played last season. We really had to concentrate today.

"We have never faced such a strong side. We want to congratulate Bayern on the win and we look forward to seeing them soon."

Lewandowski struck from the penalty spot just before the half-hour mark and Carlo Ancelotti's men took control from then on.

Daniliants said there was little else his side could do in their Group D opener.

He added: "Today wasn't an easy game for us. Our opponents were so quick. We have never play against a team that played like Bayern today.

"We tried hard to hold off and stayed organised. The first goal came from an unfortunate penalty and the rest from quick counters."
