Aggrieved Sulley Muntari has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against sports.es for breaking the news of his alleged arrest in Italy over financial troubles.
Reports went viral on Tuesday that Sulley Muntari was arrested and a car he was driving seized over monies owed a rental service provider.
However, Muntari has denied the allegation and has rather instructed his lawyers to take the necessary steps to bring sports.es to book for defamation of character.
“I am hugely surprised about where the story is coming from. I am taking legal action against the website immediately for defamation,” Muntari told GHANAsoccernet.com from his base in Italy.
Sulley Muntari made the headlines last season after he walked off the pitch in protest against racial abuse while playing for Pescara against Cagliari in the Italian Serie A.
The Ghana international is club less after his six months contract with Pescara run out last season.
