Abedi Pele hopes Andre Ayew plays for Liverpool one day

Black Stars vice-captain Andre Ayew transferred from the French Ligue 1 to the English Premier League last summer and according to his legendary football father Abedi Pele, the player will stay in England.

Abedi Pele believes the best league in the world is played in England and his two sons Andre Ayew of Swansea City and Jordan Ayew of Aston Villa will not be transferring away despite interest from other clubs.

The former Black Stars captain also disclosed that his boys have their favourite clubs in England and hopes they one day feature for those clubs. Andre Ayew has made known in a series of interviews that the club he supports in England is Liverpool and has failed to rule out a transfer move to the Anfield club.

Abedi Pele speaking to Starr FM said:

“Today, I think football is in England. The best league is in England. I think times have changed from when I was in Italy at Torino. Today it has shifted to the other side.

“My boys have their young time dreams and the teams they support in England and we hope they one day get those teams but what is most important is to put their foot in England and they have done and are doing well.”

Swansea City and Aston Villa are both struggling in the English Premier League but Andre and Jordan Ayew continue to shine for their respective clubs in their relegation battling moment. A transfer move to a different club in England could be on the cards for the players at the end of the season.
