Right time for Kwesi Nyantaky to resign in 2019 – Alhaji Grunsah

The football administrator believes the GFA president took the right decision to resign in 2019.

The GFA boss first revealed in February that he will not stand again for re-election after his current term, and recently reiterated his stand following a successful conclusion of the WAFU tournament.

Nyantakyi has often been criticized for the way he ran the country’s football, with the state of the domestic league one direction his critics normally point to.

And Alhaji Grunsah believes the right is right for the CAF vice president to quit his post, saying someone else needs to take over.

He told Happy FM: “Nyantakyi has made a good decision. He has done a lot for Ghana football and somebody needs to take over from him. God has blessed him to get CAF and FIFA positions. I am only praying that he becomes CAF president before I join my ancestors.”

The football administrator was however quick to add that whoever wishes to replace Nyantakyi in 2019 should be ready to face strict scrutiny.

According to him, “we will judge the person by his CV, human relations and what he will write in his manifesto so those who want to succeed Nyantakyi as FA president should come out clear with their blueprints.”
