MTN reiterates commitment to help Kotoko complete ultra-modern Adako Jachie project

The new facility will have a training pitch and a 30,000-seater capacity stadium built for Kotoko.

The sod for the construction of the project was cut a few years ago, with the hierarchy of Kotoko bent on getting the club its own training facility.

When completed, the Adako Jachie project is expected to have a mini village, a training pitch, a 30,000-seater capacity stadium, among other facilities.

According to the acting CEO of MTN Modupe Kadri, the telecommunication giants are proud to be associated with Kotoko and will support in the construction of the Adako Jachie facility.

“It is a bonus that our own sponsored club has won the FA Cup. We know that Asante Kotoko is one of the biggest clubs which brings a lot of excitement to the game in Ghana and beyond the shores of the country, especially having won 20 league national titles,” he told Pulse Ghana during a presentation held at the MTN House at Ridge, Accra.

“The achievements of Kotoko are many and I will not attempt to mention them. I can only congratulate and urge you to do more.

“Out of these relationships, many projects have been initiated. This includes the handed-over statue of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Santasi roundabout in Kumasi some few years ago.

“Currently, MTN is undertaking enhancements on the training pitch of Asante Kotoko. We take this opportunity to thank the officials and players for making time to call on us. We wish you well in your preparations to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League.”

Kotoko won the FA Cup and President’s Cup – both against rivals Hearts of Oak – and are next in action against the Phobians on Sunday for the second-leg of the Ghana@60 Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors lost the first-leg 3-1 in Accra and will be hoping to overturn the deficit at home in order to win a third trophy in the year.
