The summer transfer window is still open, with players engineering moves to and fro. While some clubs have made the best businesses so far, others are also still in negotiation for their targets.

As the new season inches closer to a start, some Ghanaian players have also so far been on the move.

Christian Atsu

The 25-year-old completed a permanent move to Newcastle United, after signing a four-year deal with the club.

Atsu made 32 appearances as the Magpies secured qualification back into the Premier League after just a season in the Championship.

Newcastle United mamager Raphael Benitez was impressed with the Ghanaian and prompted the club hierarchy to snap him up on a permanent deal from parent club Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth €6 million.

Thomas Agyepong

Black Stars newbie Thomas Agyepong has also re-joined Dutch side NAC Breda on loan from Manchester City, after spending the last season on loan with the Yellow Army.

Agyepong made 27 appearances on-loan at NAC Breda as the club qualified to the Eredivisie. The 20-year subsequently extended his stay with the Dutch club for one more year.

Asamoah Gyan

Ghana captain Asomaoh Gyan really surprised many after signing a two-year-deal with Turkish Super Lig outfit Kayserispor.

The 31-year-old has spent the last five years in Asia, playing for Al Ain, Shanghai SIPG and Al Ahli Dubai, but has made a return to Europe to play in the Turkish topflight.

Gyan reportedly took a massive pay-cut to join Kayserispor, who finished just a place above the relegation zone last season.

Kwesi Appiah

Twenty-six-year-old striker Kwesi Appiah moved to join League One outfit AFC Wimbledon this summer.

The attacker has battled with injuries for the past two years, and finally signed a permanent deal with Wimbledon after previous loan spells at Viking and Reading.

Frank Acheampong

Frank Acheampong has also chosen to continue his career in the Chinese Super League. The 23-year-old left Anderlecht for Tianjin Teda earlier this month, after a trophy-laden stint with the Dutch champions.

Acheampong initially courted interest from English Premier League sides Stoke City and West Ham United, however, the offer from the Chinese club proved too good to reject, as he later revealed.
