He is also currently the Member of Parliament (MP) for the La Dadekotopong constituency, having won the Parliamentary elections in 2016.

An overload of commitments mean Odotei-Sowah has had to relinquish his post as MD for the club.

In the aftermath of Hearts of Oak’s victory over rivals Kotoko, Odotei revealed that he was quitting his post, but promised to continue serving the club as a management member.

“I’ve decided to let go my position as the head, but I’m not leaving the club. I’m just changing my role because operationally I will not be able to combine it with other things,” he said.

“But I will still hold my position in the management board, and continue to work behind the scene.”
