The former Black Stars shot-stopper beat off competition from Wa All Stars midfielder, David Abagna and Tema Youth marksman Joseph Paintsil to win the NASCO Player of the Month for the most outstanding player in the Ghana Premier League last month.

Owu kept four clean sheets in June and won one man of the match award, including saving a crucial penalty to inspire AshGold win 0-1 against Medeama and subsequently lift themselves from the drop zone.

Sponsors of the Ghana Premier League's weekly Man of the Match awards and the monthly Player and Coach of the Month Awards, NASCO Electronics, will present its sleek Q6 mobile phones to the winners at their next league match in Obuasi this weekend when Ashantigold face leaders WAFA.
