Retired FIFA Referee Joseph Wellington has criticized referee Dally Gagba for not being at his best when he officiated the Asante Kotoko 1-1 draw against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

The Bolga-based made several mistakes during the game including a contentious penalty awarded in favour of the Porcupine Warriors in their one all draw.

“Referee Gagba wasn’t in his best shape after the first three minutes and his demeanour throughout the game was not on point. I have known him for a long time and per his performances in the season, I think he struggled in the match,” Wellington told Happy FM.

“With the penalty call, I didn’t see it clearly and I didn’t have the benefit of replay but we’ll review his performance before coming out with a decision.”
