Celebrated Ghanaian coach Herbert Addo passes on

The admired Addo becomes the sixth former Ghana coach to pass away in the last three years

Addo was admitted at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra earlier this week after his health reportedly deteriorated.

Unfortunately, he couldn't respond to treatment and passed away on Friday, March 24.

He becomes the sixth former Black Stars coach to pass away in a space of three years, the others being Jones Attuquayefio, Charles Kumi 'C.K' Gyamfi, Fred Osam Doudu Emmanuel Kwasi 'E.K' Afranie and Sam Arday.

Herbert Addo won the Ghana Premier League with Hearts of Oak in 2002 and Aduana Stars in 2010. He also won the West African Football Championships with Sekondi Hasaacas in 1982 and Kumasi Cornerstone in 1987.

The former AshGold coach also had a stint coaching the Black Stars in the mid 1980s.
