Kotoko suffer armed robbery attack

The league champions are embroiled in a relegation dogfight with arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak

 

Players and management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko were the victims of an armed robbery attack on Sunday morning at the Tadoma Hotel in Taifa ahead of their mega clash against Accra Hearts of Oak.

A source told  the players had been left traumatized by the incident which also left forward Dauda Mohammed bruised.

understands the team was woken up early in the morning by the group wielding machetes and knives after the security at the hotel had been overpowered.

Players were tied up and put in their rooms while the robbers went on their spree.

Operations Manager of the club,  George Kennedy and Coach David Duncan are reported to have been robbed of various sums of money .

The source further revealed to the Police had been invited to provide security to the team.
