Sporting Kansas City attacker Latif Blessing is delighted with his stay in the MLS, insisting his only focus is to help the club secure more silverware.

Blessing joined Kansas City City in January after an impressive season with Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a fruitful 2015/2016, winning both the Most Valuable Player award as well as the top scorer accolade in the Ghanaian topflight before moving to the MLS.

The forward continued his impressive performances as he netted twice to help his side to a 3-0 win over FC Dallas in the quarter-finals of the US Open Cup on Tuesday – with Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah watching from the stands.

And he insists he joined the MLS side in order to lift silverware, adding that he is currently enjoying his football at the Children’s Mercy Park outfit.

“I’m very happy,” Blessing told the media after Sporting Kansas City’s triumph over FC Dallas.

“I thank Benny; he just gave me the passes to score so I give the credit to Benny. We just worked hard for the team to move forward. We are here for the cup. I’m here for the cup. I just came from Ghana to win cups for Kansas City. I’m so happy to win today.”

Blessing has so far scored four goals in 11 appearances for the MLS side.
