Ex- Black Stars winger devastated after Aduana Stars declared him surplus to requirement

Richard Mpong’s career is taking a nosedive after Aduana Stars offloaded him.

The 27-year-old had limited playing time for Aduana Stars in his second season with the Dormaa based side and the technical team headed by Yusif Abubakar has put the former Asante Kotoko player on the transfer.

Mpong who scored on his Black Stars debut in 2012 against Chile believes he has been well treated at Aduana Stars and he shouldn’t have fallen down the pecking order.

In an interview with Metro FM, Mpong said,“If I’m part of the team that qualified Aduana Stars for Africa and it’s about players giving out their best, then I shouldn’t have been left out.”

“Football is about form and Sam Adams is in the form of his life but when Sam Adams wasn’t available and it was time for me to play, the coaches tried to push defenders there to play instead of me,” he added.

It would be recalled that Richard Mpong suffered a similar fate in last two seasons when Asante Kotoko terminated his contract.

Aduana Stars the new champions of Ghana will be representing the West African football powerhouse in the CAF Champions League next year.
