Daniel Opare returns to the Black Stars

In form Augsburg defender gets call-up to Black Stars after three years in the wilderness.

Opare has been in form for German club Augsburg in the German Bundesliga so far in the 2017/2018 season.

Daniel Opare has featured in the last four games out of the 6 games for his side in the German top flight and has helped the team to go unbeaten in that run.

The defender’s form has definitely been noticed by Black Stars' head Coach James Kwesi Appiah and has therefore merited a call-up for his side.

Opare broke into the international scene by featuring for Ghana in the 2007 u-17 world cup and later winning the u-20 world cup in 2009

Opare within that time as a youth star did receive a few call ups into the Senior National Team under French Head Coach Claude Le Roy.

However, Opare had to wait until the 2012 African Cup of Nations before getting a call-up. The right full back did feature for the side in the tournament held at Equatorial Guinea/Gabon.

Opare’s last game was Ghana’s opener of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil where Ghana lost to USA by 2-1
