Thomas Abbey endorses Vincent Atingah’s call-up

Hearts of Oak skipper expresses his delight in his teammates call up into the senior national team

Central defender Vincent Atingah has been astronomical for the side in the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League.

In Speaking to XYZ Sports, Hearts of Oak's team captain expressed the delight he and his team have in the call-up of Atingah.

“We are happy for him and we are behind him. It shows that if you work hard, Ghanaians and coaches are watching.”

He also advised Atingah to duly take the chance when given to him.

“This is the time for him to prove himself and we in the entire team are behind him,” Abbey said.

Thomas Abbey has been instrumental for Hearts of Oak’s Ghana Premier League campaign as he is a joint top scorer with 13 goals. Abbey was not able to find the net in the just ended WAFU competition as he played the entire tournament at left back.

Atingah, on the other hand, has had penalty taking as his mantra in all competitions on the local terrain.

Atingah has scored 5 goals in Ghana’s flagship cup competition the MTN FA cup with majority coming from the spot

In the 2017 WAFU tournament, Atingah also had a goal in the opening game and final from the penalty spot.
