Watch Man City whitewash Real Madrid 4-1 in pre-season

Manchester City produced a stunning second-half display to wipe the floor with European champions Real Madrid, as Pep Guardiola’s men ran out 4-1 winners in Los Angeles.

De Bruyne set up City's first three goals and hit the woodwork with a free-kick as Guardiola's men demolished the reigning Champions League holders in the Los Angeles Coliseum.

City turned on the style in front of a 93,098 crowd, the majority of whom were Madrid fans, with De Bruyne excelling with a man-of-the-match display.

His corner kick delivery led to the opener from Nicolas Otamendi, then De Bruyne played the pass of the match, putting Raheem Sterling through to plunder City's second.

De Bruyne then hit the frame of the goal from a set-piece delivery, before setting up John Stones for the third. There was time for teenage sub Brahim Diaz to score a stunning fourth, as Guardiola's side made an emphatic statement of intent ahead of the new season.

Oscar Rodriguez scored a wicked 30-yard effort with the last kick of the game to get Madrid a consolation.
