We can upset Ghana- The Gambia captain

The Gambia captain is positive that his side can beat

The Gambia are in town to honor this event and the Gambia captain Madou Jobe spoke to the Ghanaian media.

He first spoke on how comfortable his team has been since their arrival

“Honestly, since we came here we have loved the hospitality in the hotel. We really appreciate the efforts the organizing committee has put into the event so far. I personally I will say we are excited.”

The Gambian Goalkeeper was optimistic his side could beat the host Ghana:

“We were comfortable about the news that we were going to face Ghana as we all know it is a tournament. We playing the host nation which will seem difficult but we see what we can do to upset Ghana.”

He did go on to say his side will take advantage of being underdogs.

“It is good to be underdogs coming up against Ghana so we can try and upset teams like these.”

He did state his side’s target for the tournament is to reach the group stage.

“We need to at least beat Ghana and make the group stage after that then we think the next step.”

Madou Jobe was also emphatic that the side did need everything including determination and concentration. They do know how important is for them and so they will give everything to win on the day.

Jobe also spoke on the unfamiliarity of both sides going into the opening game.

“Honestly, we don’t know much about the Ghana Team and they also do not know much about us. It is difficult to play a team you don’t know but we will get to know them as the game grows.

"We are very confident as you can see its all smiles and we are very prepared for the game on Saturday.”

Ghana will face The Gambia at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday the 9th of September, 2017.
