Who is Messi’s bride?

The Barcelona star will be tying the knot with Antonella Roccuzzo, his long-term girlfriend. The pair has known each other since age nine.

Like Messi, Antonella is also 29 years of age, and her date with the Argentine attacker was made public in 2008.

Antonella is also a native of Rosario, just like her would-be-husband. She has two sons – Mateo and Thiago – with Messi.

Where will the wedding be held?

Messi’s wedding is surely the talk of town right now, but not many know the venue for this august occasion. The couple is set to hold two weddings: one in Argentina and another in Spain.

This is to make sure that all friends and family of the couple will be well represented. The first wedding will be held in Rosario, Santa Fe. Dubbed the ‘Wedding of the year’, Messi and Antonella’s union will see 600 guests present at the Rosario Cathedral. The first wedding is scheduled to be held at the Hotel Pullman which has over 250 rooms.

The second wedding will be held in Catalonia, allowing friends who could not make the trip to the event in Argentina could also attend.

Who has been invited and who has not?

The grand ceremony will have restricted guests in attendance. Fans who wish to attend their idol’s wedding need to get an invitation first.

The 29-year-old has invited all his Barcelona team-mates, with ex-colleague Xavi also scheduled to attend. That means the likes of Neymar and Iniesta will all be there.

The Barcelona star has, however, rather turned his back on some people, declining to incite them to his wedding. Former Barca manager Luis Enrique, as well as all the board members of the club were also not invited.

His rival Cristiano Ronaldo, unsurprisingly, will also not be in attendance.
