Bashir Hayford blames his strikers after Kotoko draw

"I will emphatically say my strikers failed"- Bashir Hayford

The Miners were held to their second successive draw on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in their outstanding Ghana Premier League fixture.

And Bashir Hayford believes his strikers are responsible for the result because they failed to convert chances they had in the game.

“I will emphatically say my strikers failed. We had done more difficult work on scoring goals in training than what transpired," the former Kotoko boss told the press after the game.

“We created chances to win the game but it wasn’t an easy game. We dominated the first half but I will say it [the result] is a true reflection of the game.”

Bashir Hayford also noted that the team lack understanding and the transitional period will time for the team gel and find their rhythm.

“We are blending players at and I expect that to take time so I didn’t expect us to start the season with a bang.”

The outspoken coach related the pressure of defending the league title to what happens between marriage couples.

“If your wife needs a new cloth and you don’t have money to buy if for her, there will be pressure on you.”
