David Duncan lauds Ashgold's output in league stalemate

The Porcupine Warriors who have had shaky start went into the game from the backdrop of a win and a draw as their main target was to beat the Miners for the three points but they met a resolute Ashanti Gold’s defence.

Prior to the game, the Kumasi based club had enjoyed a good run over their regional rivals winning two trophies against them – the SWAG Cup and the Otumfuo Cup.

But in their Premier League fixture, the defending league champions stood their grounds to earn a point in the game against Kotoko in Kumasi.

"In the last couple of games, we seem to have an edge over them but they knew what was at stake especially the fact that if we had won, we would been level on points with them,” Duncan said after the game.

"They gave it their all. They were satisfied with the points they earned judging by their setup."

Kotoko have so far amassed two points in three games and their next premier league game is away to Berekum Chelsea.
