The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has indicated that the 2016-17 Ghana Premier League will be preceded by a gala competition.
The national Guinness gala which was a knockout contest was played a week before the top-flight league in Ghana starts, but has been on hibernation after Asante Kotoko won the last edition in 2005.
But the Ghana Football Association during the first day of the 20116 congress at Prampram on 12th December pronounced that gala has been reinstated.
"The GFA as part of our contract with StarTimes, our broadcast sponsors, will play a gala for all the 16 premier league clubs before the kickoff of the 2016/17 season," Nyantakyi disclosed at Monday's Congress in Prampram.
The national gala contest was played to sensitise the football loving fans of the upcoming season.
Next season's Ghana Premier league has scheduled for January, 2017.
