Pulse sports presents team for match day 17 of the Ghana Premier League (GPL)

George Owu

The former Hasaacas goalkeeper in his debut home league game for his former side produced good goalkeeping against Ebusua Dwrafs on Sunday. Owu made about three critical saves to keep a clean sheet as AshGold won 3-0.

The Aduana Stars right back was at his usual best by as he surged forward and retreated quickly to support the defence men when necessary.

Ibrahim Abdul Wahab

The left back added much bite to the attacking play of West African Football Academy in their 5-0 demolishing of Hearts of Oak on Sunday. His perfect combination with Ashimeru enabled him to double the score line for the Academy boys.

Richard Ocran

The centre had a good game and aside dealing with dangerous balls that could have resulted in goals, he at the same time scored two of AshGold’s 3 goals against Dwarfs from the spot kick.

Akwasi Acheampong

The ex-Kotoko defender was gallant at the back and he managed to mark out the Wa All Stars attackers from the game. He made several blocks to deny the league champions from finding the back of the net and subsequently won the Most Valuable Player of the game.

Theopilus Nyame

The Asante Kotoko loanee to Ashanti Gold continued to shine after joining the Miners in the quest to help them avoid relegation. Nyame anchored the midfield very effective by retaining possession and distributing the balls very well in their 3-0 win against Ebusua Dwarfs. He was adjudged the man of the match.

Zakaria Mumuni

The Aduana Stars winger scored and assisted a goal when his side suffered a 3-2 defeat against Berekum Chelsea in the Brong Ahafo derby.

David Agodorme

The Gt. Olympics winger scored the match opener in their 1-1 draw against Kumasi Asante Kotoko. He took defenders on aside his goals to deserve the Man of the Match award.

Majeed Ashimeru

The WAFA midfielder was one of the players who engineered Hearts of Oak scalp. Ashimeru seized the centre of the park and frustrated Hearts of Oak with his passes and dribbles as they hammered the Phobians 5-0. He assisted two of the goals and scored one to claim the Man of Match award.

The Berekum Chelsea striker lead in the list of best performers on match day 17. Okai Quaye scored the third hat-trick in this season’s league when his outfit defeated Aduana Stars 3-2 in the match anticipated derby at the Golden City Park on Saturday.

Daniel Lomotey

The WAFA striker was clinical in front of goal when his side disintegrated Accra Hearts of Oak 5-0 on match day 17. He scored two of the 5 goals and was also a torn in the flesh of the defence men of the Phobians.
