Great Olympics relegated after loss to Bechem United

Amed Toure fired home from the spot kick inside just three minutes to give the home side the vital win to retain their league status.

Accra Great Olympics have suffered relegation after losing 1-0 to Bechem United on Match Day 30 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday.

In the second half, the Dade Boys pushed for the equalizer but the steady defense of Bechem United stood firm to their threats.

The visitors came in strongly mid-way through the second half by attacking the Hunters and went close to leveling the score line through Douglas Opoku but his thumping header grazed the upright.

It’s the fifth time Great Olympics have suffered relegation from GPL with Tema Youth suffering relegation for the second time as they are set to feature in next season GN Bank Division One League.

Notably, Great Olympics have an outstanding protest against Accra Hearts of Oak as the verdict on the case could possibly affect the league standings.
