Hearts of Oak will comply with Appeals Committee ruling

Board Member of Hearts of Oak Frank Nelson Nwonkwolo says the club will serve their ban after the Appeals Committee's verdict

The Phobians were slapped with a hefty ban and fine after they were found guilty by the Disciplinary Committee of the FA for failing to control their supporters in their match-week six fixture against Wa All Stars which was marred by crowd violence.

The management of the club exercised their right to appeal the ruling, and the Appeals Committee reduced the initial three Premier League home games which they were told to play behind closed doors to two, but upheld the fine of GHC 12,000.

And the club say they have accepted the decision of the Appeals Committee.

He explaned that the supporters will now understand the repercussions of their actions and inactions in subsequent matches.

“There is nothing we can do now, we were expecting a favourable decision but as football people we need to accept the verdict and learn from our mistakes especially our supporters," disappointed Nwokwolo said in an interview with Starr FM

"They should now know that these acts affect the club financially. This will prevent such acts in future." he noted.

Hearts will play their first home game behind closed doors when they host Sekondi Hasaacas on Wednesday.
