PFAG to launch insurance package for players

Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) to launch insurance package for Ghana Premier League players on 21 March 2016

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) on 21 March 2016 at the Alisa Hotel in Accra will launch an insurance and welfare package for Ghana Premier League players.

The initiative which is the first of its kind has been dubbed as “Life after Footballer and Insurance Scheme”.

Ex-Black Stars stalwart defender Tony Baffoe who is the General Secretary of the PFAG last month during the launching of the 2016 Ghana Premier League revealed that his outfit will pay for an insurance premium for all the sixteen Premier League club players for the next two years

And now the PFAG has walked the talk as they will officially launch the insurance and welfare package for the footballers.

The scheme is designed to cover players for accidental deaths, critical illness and general accidents suffered by players on the field.

The PFAG is affiliated to the international Federation for Professional Footballers (FIFPro).
