Hearts of Oak's highest paid player takes home $500 a month in the Ghana Premier League.
Every season the Ghana Premier League club experiences massive player exodus due to meagre monthly salaries for the players.
Due to the salary situation, the best players in the league move abroad to seek for greener pastures in countries such as Kuwait, Lebanon, Sudan and Tanzania.
Sowah-Odotei has admitted that those players move abroad because of the low salaries they receive in the domestic top-flight championship.
“The only way we can let the players stay in the league is, we have to look at the whole football infrastructure from the GFA, from the way we put out our policies, how clubs will be managed because we are in a competitive world,” Sowah Odotei told Asempa FM.
“In Hearts of Oak the highest paid player takes home a monthly salary of $500 and the average player in Hearts of Oak takes about $300 a month. We will get there but it will take some time,” he added.
