Recap of Ghanaian Players Abroad for the weekend's football action

The Ghanaian defender’s mistake caused his team to go down by a goal to nil which resulted in Guus Hiddink taking off Baba Rahman for the second half of the game. Chelsea eventually won the game by two goals to one.

Daniel Amartey made his English Premier League debut for leaders Leicester City in their home game against Norwich City. The Ghanaian started and played 78 minutes before being replaced by Jose Leonardo Ulloa who scored the only goal of the game to win it for Leicester.

Jeffrey Schlupp also made a return from injury to play his first game for Leicester in the year 2016. The Black Stars defender came on in the 69th minute replacing Shinji Okazaki.

Jordan Ayew served his last of the three-game suspension for his red card against West Ham in Aston Villa’s trip to Stoke City. Relegation battling Aston Villa lost the game by two goals to one.

Ghana vice-captain Andre Ayewplayed the full game for his Swansea City team in their away game at Tottenham Hotspur. Ayew’s side lost by two goals to one after Tottenham came back from a first half deficit to win in the second half of the game. Andre Ayew received a yellow card booking in the game.

In the English Championship, Albert Adomah scored in Middlesbrough’s 2-0 win against Fulham away from home. The Ghanaian forward opened the scoring in the game before Grant Leadbitter added a second for Middlesbrough from the penalty spot.

Kevin-Prince Boateng made a substitute appearance against Afriyie Acquah’s Torino in the Italian Serie A on Saturday. Boateng’s AC Milan team won their home game by a single goal without reply with Luca Antonelli scoring the goal.

Afriyie Acquah returned from injury to play in the entire duration of Torino’s defeat to AC Milan.

Godfred Donsah played the full game for Bologna in their trip to Palermo in the Italian Serie A on Sunday. The game between Palermo and Bologna ended in a goalless draw.

Isaac Cofie was an unused substitute in Carpi’s 1-1 draw against Atalanta in the Italian Serie A.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu scored the first of two goals as his Udinese team won their Serie A game against Hellas Verona by two goals without reply.

The Ghanaian played in the full duration of the game without a booking.

Thomas Teye Partey was not included in the Atletico Madrid team that beat Real Madrid in the derby on Saturday. The Ghanaian midfielder is still recovering from a sustained injury.

Bernard Mensah also missed Getafe’s 1-0 defeat at home to Celta Vigo in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday.

Christian Atsu was an unused substitute for Malaga in their 1-1 draw to Real Sociedad away from home in the La Liga. The Ghanaian player who got injured in his debut game for Malaga recently returned to full training.

Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Assifuah scored for Sion in their 3-1 win over Luzen in Switzerland. The Ghanaian who started the game for Sion scored the second of their three goals and was substituted in the 66th minute of the game.

In the French League 1, Ghanaian striker Abdul Majeed Waris once again scored for FC Lorient in their away game against Troyes. The player scored the only goal of the game to win it for Lorient playing in the entire duration of the fixture.

In the Belgium League, Samuel Asamoah made an appearance in the additional minutes as his Oud-Heverlee team won their home game against Oostende by four goals to one.

Frank Acheampong played in the entire duration of his Anderlecht team’s 3-3 draw at home to Standard Liege.

Samuel Inkoom played the full game for Antalyaspor in their goalless draw away at Sivasspor in the Turkish league.

Sulley Muntari was in action for his Al Ittihad team as they won by a single goal to nil away at Al Hilal. The Ghanaian midfielder played in the full duration of the game and received a yellow card booking.
