Here’s a recap of Ghanaian players abroad over the weekend:

Jeffrey Schlupp missed out on Leicester City’s goalless draw game against Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday. The Ghanaian had been a subject of transfer interest for West Bromwich Albion going into the game against Arsenal.

Ghanaian player Daniel Amartey was named on the bench but could not come on in the game against Arsenal.

Christian Atsu was not named in the Chelsea squad that won away from home against Watford in the English Premier League.

Albert Adomah made a substitute appearance for Middlesbrough in their English Premier League game against Sunderland on Sunday.

The Ghanaian and his Middlesbrough side recorded their first Premier League win since their promotion from the English Championship with a 2-1 victory over Sunderland. Adomah replaced Gaston Ramirez in the game.

Black Stars vice-captain Andre Ayew did not play a part in West Ham United’s home game against AFC Bournemouth which the Hammers won by a goal to nil. The West Ham record signing has been ruled out due to a long term injury.

Jordan Ayew played the full game for Aston Villa in their away English Championship tie vs Derby County. The game ended in a goalless draw.

Kwadwo Asamoah made a full return for Juventus in their Italian Serie A game against Fiorentina. The Italian Serie A champions who were playing at home won their first game of the season by two goals to one. Asamoah produced a fine performance to win the man of the match in the game.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu played the full game for Udinese as they were thrashed by four goals without reply against Roma.

Afriyie Acquah played in Torino’s first game of the Serie A season against AC Milan on Sunday. The Ghanaian and his team lost by three goals to two after failing to score a late penalty kick that could have equalized the game.

Isaac Cofie was an unused substitute for Genoa in their 3-1 home win against Cagliari on Sunday.

Abdul Baba Rahman made his competitive debut for Schalke 04 in the German DFB Cup since his loan transfer move from Chelsea.

Rahman started and played in the full duration of the game as Schalke 04 secured a 4-1 win to progress to the next round of the competition.

In the French Ligue 1, Abdul Majeed Waris played the full game for his FC Lorient team who lost their home game against SC Bastia by three goals to nil.

Thomas Partey was not named in the Atletico Madrid squad for their first Spanish La Liga game against Alaves.

In the Belgium Pro League, Frank Acheampong missed his Anderlecht team’s 2-2 draw away at Eupen. Emmanuel Adjei however came on for Anderlecht in the game.

In the Russian League, Jonathan Mensah came on as a 62nd minute substitute for Anzhi Makhachkala. Mensah and his team edged Rubin Kazan by two goals to one away from home.

Adam Kwarasey was in goal as his Rosenborg team were held to a 1-1 draw away from home against Brann in Norway.
