Kevin-Prince Boateng scored in the Spanish La Liga to help his Las Palmas team go top of the league table on Sunday.

Ghana international Boateng, who also scored in last weekend's 4-2 win at Valencia, headed home on the 52nd minute mark.

French winger Nabil El Zhar buried the ball in the bottom left corner to open the scoring at Estadio Gran Canaria, but the hosts levelled on the stroke of half-time through Jeremie Boga.

Boateng restored the hosts' lead with a goal on his home debut after heading home to put Los Amarillos back in front six minutes after the restart, but the midfielder was then forced off through injury.  

Las Palms scored three more to win the game by five goals to one.

Thomas Partey did not play a part for Atletico Madrid who shared the spoils with a goalless draw against Leganes in the La Liga on Saturday.

Daniel Amartey was handed his first start of the English Premier League season as champions Leicester entertained Andre Ayew’s former club Swansea City at the King Power Stadium.

The Ghanaian played the full game as Leicester City recorded their first win with a 2-1 victory against Swansea City.

Injured Jeffrey Schlupp did not play a part in the game for champions Leicester City.

Albert Adomah was not in Middlesbrough’s match day squad for their away game against West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

The Ghanaian’s team grabbed a point on the road with a goalless draw against West Brom.

In the English Championship, Jordan Ayew and his Aston Villa team continued their inconsistent run as they let their lead slip to lose by three goals to one against Bristol City away from home.

Jordan played in the full duration of the game for Aston Villa.

Kwadwo Asamoah shined again for Italian Serie A champions Juventus who secured a 1-0 win away from home at Lazio in their second league game of the season.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu also played the full game for Juventus in their Serie A game against Empoli on Sunday after extending his contract at the club.

Udinese won the game by two goals to nil to secure their first three points of the Italian Serie A league season.

Afriyie Acquah came on as a substitute for Torino who won their Serie A game against Bologna by five goals to one.

In the German Bundesliga, Abdul Baba Rahman came on as a substitute for his Schalke 04 team who lost their game away from home by one goal to nil to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Abdul Majeed Waris played the full game for FC Lorient in their away defeat against Olympic Marseille in the French Ligue 1.

The Ghanaian and his teammates conceded two goals without reply.

Ghanaian forward Yaw Yeboah scored his first goal for FC Twente in the Dutch League. Yeboah and his team won their game against Sparta Rotterdan by three goals to one at the De Grolsch Veste on Saturday.

Bernard Mensah made his second debut for Vitoria Guimaraes in the Portuguese league following his transfer from the Spanish La Liga.

The 20-year-old came off the bench to help his team win their game against Pacos de Ferreira by five goals to three.

Ghanaian attacker, Joe Dodoo has suffered an ankle injury while playing for Rangers on Friday night against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League at the Rugby Park.

The 21-year-old was unfortunate not to last the entire 90 minutes when he was handed his first league start of the season, as he was stretched off the pitch in pain.
