According to Alhassan Yekini, who happens to be a management member of the ‘Pride of the North’, the brother of the President wants to acquire 70% shares and paper works are ongoing to finalise the deal.
"We are opening the sale of shares for people to buy and Ibrahim Mahama said he wants to take majority of the shares,” he said,” he told UraSports in the Upper East Region.
“So automatically he becomes the owner of the club. He wants to take 70% of the shares.
“He is going to takeover the club but they are still on the documentation and I hope by next week it will be completed."
RTU, since suffering relegation to the 2 tier for the very first time in the club’s history in 2011, have been struggling to make a mark in Ghana football.
They are at the moment competing in the GN Bank Division One League.
