Ghanaian player named Development Player of the Year at Crystal Palace

Ghanaian international Hiram Boateng who made his Premier League debut in February was recognised at Crystal Palace's 2016 Awards night

The midfielder made his English Premier League debut against Black Stars vice-captain Andre Ayew’s Swansea City in February after he was recalled from a loan spell at Plymouth Argyle in the League Two.

Hiram Boateng who is a Crystal Palace Academy graduate excelled during his loan spell with Plymouth Argyle aiding the League Two club into the play-offs with 29 appearances for the Pilgrims.

The Ghana international could not be at Crystal Palace’s 2016 Awards night to receive his award as he is playing in the semi-final play-off game against Portsmouth.

In a pre-recorded message from Hiram Boateng, the Crystal Palace player said:

“It's been a really good season for me out out on loan but playing in that Premier League game against Swansea City was one of the best aspects of it.

"I'd like to say a really big thank you again to everyone at the club for giving me this award."

Other winners on the night was Wilfried Zaha who was named the Crystal Palace Player of the Year,Scott Dann who was the Player’s Player of the Year and Jason Puncheon who won the Goal of the Season.
