Gilbert Koomson makes Black Stars debut against South Africa

Ghanaian player Gilbert Koomson played his first game for the Black Stars in the international friendly against South Africa.

Koomson was called up by Avram Grant during the international break for the World Cup qualifiers.

The 22-year-old who plays for Sogndal in Norway was introduced into the game against South Africa with nine minutes to the end of regulation time replacing Newcastle United player Christian Atsu.

Ghana played a 1-1 draw game against South Africa in the friendly with Mubarak Wakaso scoring from the penalty spot for the Black Stars.

Mubarak Wakaso won the man of the match in the friendly and received a cash reward of ten thousand rand.
