Ghanaian winger scores to win first trophy for Sporting Kansas

Ghanaian attacker Latif Blessing was on target for Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday night as he helped them to a 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls to lift the US Open Cup.

The first goal of the night came from Latif Blessing (25′) to put the good guys up 1-0 heading into half time. Graham Zusi had the assist on that goal, and boy was it a beauty! It really couldn’t have been done any better than that honestly.

The rest of the half was a scoreless effort for both teams, but Blessing’s goal wouldn’t be the only one on the night. It’s a good thing too, as the Red Bulls tried to attempt a late comeback in the match.

It was Blessing’s third goal of the 2017 Open Cup campaign, while Zusi—making his 250th competitive appearance for Sporting KC — recorded his team-leading seventh assist of the year.
