Crystal Palace bid £10m for Ghana striker

Waris, 24, scored 12 goals for the French club last season as Alan Pardew seeks partner for Christian Benteke

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew  is clearly seeking more goals having seen his side find the net just once in the opening three matches of the season – the fewest in the Premier League.

Palace scored just 39 goals last season – only bottom club Aston Villa scored fewer – and made goals a priority this summer.

They smashed the club record when bringing Christian Benteke to Selhurst Park from Liverpool for an initial £27m and have also been linked with a move for unwanted Mario Balotelli.

According to France Football, Palace have now made a £10m offer for the Lorient forward.

Waris, 24, scored 12 goals in 24 games in all competitions last season.

He also has four goals in 22 matches for Ghana.
