Ghana striker ends goal drought

Majid Waris scored his first French Ligue 1 goal for Lorient in nine months on Saturday against Metz

Ghana international, Majid Waris was on the scoresheet for Lorient in the French Ligue 1 against Metz in a 3-3 draw.

Waris finished off nicely from Cafu’s assist in the 16th minute to put Lorient on level pegging at the Stade Saint-Symphorien in Metz.

The Black Stars attacker has scored just two goals this season - a Coupe de la Ligue goal against Stade Rennes in late October, but Saturday’s goal was his first in the league since March.

Lorient are still at the bottom of the league table with only eight points and are being threatened by relegation.
