A wounded Australia pose a massive threat to New Zealand this weekend as the two rivals meet for the second successive week in the Rugby Championship, according to Jerome Kaino.

The All Blacks thrashed Australia on home soil last weekend with a sensational 42-8 victory, the visitors running in six tries as Beauden Barrett starred.

Australia have received plenty of criticism for their display and Kaino expects the Wallabies to produce a much better showing when they face off in Wellington on Saturday.

"We just need to put ourselves in their shoes and think about what we would be doing and the edge and intensity we would have at training," the loose forward is quoted as saying by the New Zealand Herald.

"Without a doubt, the intensity of their game will step up this weekend.

"They have had a lot of injuries but even when you look at the guys who didn't play, they have got a lot of class there. Whoever they put in there is going to have a lot of determination to better their performance.

"I know if that was us, we would be doing everything possible to play a lot better and get a win and that is what we are expecting."

But the Kiwis will be ready for a change in approach as they close in on another Bledisloe Cup triumph.

"It is all about attitude and mindset," he added. "We have got the mindset that we haven't done anything, that we haven't achieved anything.
