Angels, Indians claim crushing wins in MLB

The Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Angels piled on the runs in a big way in MLB on Saturday.

C.J. Cron and Carlos Perez had 11 RBIs between them as the Los Angeles Angels crushed the Boston Red Sox in MLB.

Cron (six-for-six, five RBIs) and Perez (five-for-six, six RBIs) were the heroes as the Angels thrashed the Red Sox 21-2 on the back of 22 hits.

Albert Pujols homered and also had a five-RBI day.

The Minnesota Twins were also explosive as Max Kepler finished with seven RBIs in a 17-5 win over the Texas Rangers.

The Cleveland Indians' 14-game winning run came to an end with a 9-6 loss at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Cincinnati Reds scored five times in the 10th in a 9-4 victory over the Washington Nationals and the Kansas City Royals beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2.

A seven-run sixth inning set up the Atlanta Braves' 9-1 win against the Miami Marlins and the St Louis Cardinals shut out the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0.

The Arizona Diamondbacks edged the San Francisco Giants 6-5, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 6-1, the Seattle Mariners cruised past the Baltimore Orioles 12-6 and the Pittsburgh Pirates edged the Oakland Athletics 4-2.

There were one-run wins for the San Diego Padres (2-1 over the New York Yankees), New York Mets (4-3 over the Chicago Cubs), Detroit Tigers (3-2 over the Tampa Bay Rays) and Chicago White Sox (7-6 over the Houston Astros). ANGELS DOMINATE RED SOX

What the Angels did to the Red Sox was not natural. First baseman Cron and catcher Perez were especially brutal. Cron went six-for-six with two home runs, five RBIs and five runs scored. Perez was almost as good. He went five-for-six with a home run, two runs scored and six RBIs. Mike Trout did not even drive in a single run. The 19-run differential was Boston's third-worst loss in the history of Fenway Park. MORALES GETTING HOT

DAVIS DOES THE CYCLE

Rajai Davis became the first Cleveland Indians player to hit for the cycle since Travis Hafner in 2003. Davis finished the game four-for-five with two runs scored, a home run, two RBIs and a stolen base. INDIANS TARGET RESPONSE

Cleveland's 14-game winning streak ended, but they took firm control of the American League Central in the process. Corey Kluber (8-7, 3.50 ERA) will try to carry his recent good form into a matchup against J.A. Happ (10-3, 3.70 ERA).
