It will be the first fixture on the road to the tournament, to be hosted in Cameroon.

Other teams in Ghana's group (F) are Sierra Leone and Kenya.

After June 11's round of matches, the group won't see any action until March 2018, when Ghana plays away to Kenya.

The main tournament takes place in January 2019.

Ghana are looking to qualify for their 22nd Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The Ghanaians have played the Ethiopians twice previously - in 1963 and 1996 - winning the first 2-0 (Africa Cup of Nations) and losing the second 2-0 (International friendly).

Thursday June 28

Kwesi Appiah's boys will play Mexico in an international friendly at thr NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Ghana has not won against Mexico before, losing two previous friendlies - March 2006 and 2008 - by one goal to nil.

A few days after facing the US, the Black Stars will fly into East Hartford, Connecticut, where they will face yet another North American opposition: the USA.

The game will take place at the 40,000-capacity Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.

The game kicks off at 20:45 GMT (8.45pm Ghana time).

It will be the 6th meeting overall between Ghana and the US, and the 2nd in the last three years.

Kwesi Appiah will be hoping to avenge the 2-1 loss suffered at the hands of the Americans in their first fixture at the 2014 World Cup, which hurt Ghana's chances of making an impact in Brazil.

That remains Ghana's only loss against United States.
