The Toronto Blue Jays are finally finding form in MLB after a fifth win in six matches, while Matt Harvey bounced back.

Marco Estrada pitched eight strong innings and Edwin Encarnacion had two RBIs as the Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 4-2.

Toronto have won five of their past six matches to improve to 27-26 after a slow start to the season.

Matt Harvey looked close to his best as he pitched seven innings in the New York Mets' 1-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.

After a slow start, Harvey gave up just two hits and struck out six in his latest outing to improve to 4-7.

The Chicago Cubs' bullpen led them past the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0, the Seattle Mariners claimed a 9-3 win over the San Diego Padres and Collin McHugh pitched a complete game in the Houston Astros' 8-3 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Atlanta Braves held on to beat the San Francisco Giants 5-3, a five-run eighth saw the Los Angeles Angels beat the Detroit Tigers 5-1 and the Kansas City Royals were 6-2 victors against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Cincinnati Reds battled past the Colorado Rockies 11-8 and the Oakland Athletics overcame the Minnesota Twins 3-2.

Matt Holliday and Matt Carpenter guided the St Louis Cardinals past the Milwaukee Brewers 6-0 and the Boston Red Sox were too good for the Baltimore Orioles 7-2.

The Pittsburgh Pirates shut out the Miami Marlins 10-0, the Washington Nationals edged the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 and the Texas Rangers crushed the Cleveland Indians 9-2.

Outfielder Adam Duvall enjoyed his first career two-homer day as the Reds blasted five long balls in a slugfest with the Rockies. For Duvall, it was numbers 12 and 13 this season. POLANCO HITS SLAM

Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco capped off a five-run inning against the Marlins with an absolute blast of a grand slam, the first of his career. Outfielder Cole Gillespie barely even attempted to chase down the fly ball. That is when you know it is gone.

A pair of Cy Young Award candidates to begin the season square off in Miami as the Pirates' Gerrit Cole (5-3, 2.53 ERA) and Marlins' Jose Fernandez (7-2, 2.82) do battle. For Fernandez, he looks to continue his career dominance at Marlins Park, where the right-hander is 21-1 with a 1.64 ERA in his young career.
