In the midst of yet another offensive outburst from the Boston Red Sox, outfielder Jackie Bradley extended his MLB hit streak on Saturday.

The Red Sox accounted for the Cleveland Indians 9-1 as Bradley made it 26 consecutive games with a hit.

Since 2006, only Manny Ramirez (27) has enjoyed a longer hit streak for the Red Sox than the one Bradley's current streak.

However, Mookie Betts was the star of the show, going three-for-five with three runs scored, two home runs - including a grand slam - and five RBIs.

The in-form San Francisco Giants saw off the Chicago Cubs 5-3 thanks to Matt Cain.

Cain had one run and six hits in six innings, as well as a two-run double in the second, to inspire the Giants to their ninth win in 10 games.

Defending World Series champions the Kansas City Royals downed the Chicago White Sox 2-1, the New York Mets had a 5-4 walk-off win against the Milwaukee Brewers, the New York Yankees made it four consecutive victories after seeing off the Oakland Athletics 5-1 and the Colorado Rockies defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by the same scoreline.

The St Louis Cardinals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-2, the Atlanta Braves had a 2-0 shut-out win over the Philadelphia Phillies, the Seattle Mariners blanked the Cincinnati Reds 4-0, the Toronto Blue Jays lost 5-3 to the Minnesota Twins and the Texas Rangers edged the Houston Astros 2-1.

Elsewhere, the Detroit Tigers were 5-4 winners against the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4, the Miami Marlins trumped the Washington Nationals 3-2, the Baltimore Orioles overcame the Los Angeles Angels 3-1 and the Los Angeles Dodgers were edged 3-2 by the San Diego Padres.

MAYBIN CONTINUES TO RISE

Tigers outfielder Cameron Maybin continued to rake the baseball by collecting three hits, his first home run in his short season and two runs scored in the win against the Rays. He is now 11 for 17 in five games since his return from shoulder and wrist injuries.

GUTIERREZ GOES LONG, VERY LONG

Mariners outfielder Franklin Gutierrez produced the highlight of the day, blasting a 473-foot shot for a three-run homer to give Seattle a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning.

BLUE JAYS FADE AGAIN

The Blue Jays dropped their fourth game this season when leading after seven innings, which is second-most in MLB this campaign behind the Reds (5).

David Wright smacked his eighth career walk-off hit - most in Mets history - on Saturday. It was his first walk-off hit since July 2012 against the Phillies and it was the Mets' first walk-off win this season.

RAYS, TIGERS SET FOR SERIES FINALE

This series finale features two of the game's best pitchers as Tampa Bay send out Chris Archer (3-4, 4.38 ERA), who has settled down after a horrid start. Detroit will counter with Jordan Zimmermann (6-2, 2.45 ERA), who has struggled in his last three starts after dominating in April.

Meanwhile, Rick Porcello (6-2, 3.51 ERA) takes the mound for Boston as he tries to continue his hot start. But Cleveland's Danny Salazar (4-2, 1.80 ERA) is a tough guy to beat.
