Hornets stun Cavs, Curry stars in NBA

The Charlotte Hornets upset the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-97 in the NBA on Wednesday, while Stephen Curry was impressive.

Jeremy Lin (24 points) led the Hornets to their victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Cavs at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Marvin Williams finished with 16 points.

Kyrie Irving (26 points) and LeBron James (23) led the Cavs, who were outscored 33-17 in the third quarter.

In Washington, Curry had 11 three-pointers in a 51-point haul as the Golden State Warriors beat the Wizards 134-121.

He fell just short of the NBA record for three-pointers in a game, but still saw the Warriors to their eighth-straight win.

Kevin Durant hit a buzzer-beating three as the Oklahoma City Thunder overcame the Orlando Magic 117-114.

Durant ended up with 37 points, while Russell Westbrook had a triple-double of 24 points, 19 rebounds and 14 assists.

LaMarcus Aldridge and his 36 points guided the San Antonio Spurs past the New Orleans Pelicans 110-97.

The Minnesota Timberwolves ended their five-game losing run by beating the Los Angeles Clippers 108-102.

The Atlanta Hawks had eight players in double-digits for points in their 124-86 thrashing of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Miami Heat edged the Dallas Mavericks 93-90, the Utah Jazz beat the Denver Nuggets 85-81 and the Chicago Bulls overcame the Sacramento Kings 107-102.

The Boston Celtics held off the fast-finishing Detroit Pistons for a 102-95 win, and the Indiana Pacers beat the Brooklyn Nets 114-100.
