Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton is not worried by a tyre pressure investigation that has cast his victory at the Formula One Italian Grand Prix into doubt

Lewis Hamilton insists he is unconcerned by an investigation into his tyre pressure that has cast doubt over his victory at the Italian Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver finished 25 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel to seemingly claim his seventh win of the Formula One season and stretch his world championship lead over team-mate Nico Rosberg, who retired from the race with just two laps remaining, to 53 points.

However, shortly after the race it was confirmed that Hamilton and Rosberg were under investigation for illegal tyre pressures.

An FIA statement revealed Hamilton's left-rear tyre was found to be 0.3psi below the required mark of 19.5psi or above before the start of the race. The same tyre on Rosberg's car was discovered to be 1.1psi under.

But when asked about the investigation and a potential disqualification, Hamilton responded: "No need to worry. I've had an amazing weekend. What will be, will be.

"I don't know what to say about it, it's not my job. I've been so happy with how the car has been in the race.

"Formula One is about running to the bare minimum. For whatever reason today, 0.3psi " if that's what it was " 0.3psi.

"It makes no difference to the car, particularly on one tyre. I'm sure [tyre supplier] Pirelli could prove it. That's not the reason we won.

"I don't know when any decisions will be made because I haven't spoken to anyone."
