NRL review: Manly Sea Eagles win 38-6 at Gold Coast Titans
Tom Trbojevic and Jorge Taufua both crossed twice as Manly Sea Eagles routed Gold Coast Titans 38-6.
The Titans fans started Monday's game in fine voice at the Cbus Stadium, reserving plenty of boos for Eagles half-back Daly Cherry-Evans - who reneged on a deal to join the Titans from 2016.
However, the Eagles soon silenced the home faithful with a dominant performance, with Tom Trbojevic and Jorge Taufua both crossing twice.
Trbojevic started the rout in the 11th minute after taking a well held-up pass by Cherry-Evans, before good work from Brett Stewart set Taufua free for the second try in the 26th minute.
It got worse for the Titans before half-time. Stewart first got himself on the scoresheet and Taufua finished a well-worked move that Jamie Lyon converted to make it 20-0 by the break.
The rout continued five minutes after the restart when Kieran Foran - celebrating his 25th birthday - crossed before Willie Mason stretched the lead with a try next to the post.
Trbojevic scored a controversial seventh try for the Eagles when Steve Matai appeared to knock-on in the build-up.
Titans debutant Nathaniel Peteru went over for a consolation in the last minute, but the damage had already been done.
