Odor will begin serving a seven-game suspension on Friday after MLB announced Thursday its ruling to reduce his punishment by one game.
Rougned Odor's suspension reduced to seven games
Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor won his appeal, sort of.
Odor was originally suspended for eight games on May 15 after he punched Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista in the jaw during a game.
He has been playing since while awaiting his appeal to be heard by MLB. The two sides met on Tuesday.
Odor and Bautista's incident caused a benches-clearing brawl that resulted in four players receiving suspensions.
Odor received the harshest penalty as 14 players and coaches between the teams were fined and/or suspended for their roles.
Bautista received a one-game suspension and had his appeal hearing with MLB on Thursday.
Odor will be eligible to return on June 4 at home against the Seattle Mariners.
