Melbourne Storm five-eighth Blake Green has signed a two-year deal with NRL rivals Manly Sea Eagles.

The playmaker has impressed this season as the Storm were crowned minor premiers and are just two wins away from taking the NRL title.

Green is out of contract at the end of the season and the former Wigan Warriors man was tipped to return to Super League with Hull FC, but has opted to make the switch to Manly.

Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett sees the 26-year-old, who has spent two seasons with Melbourne, as the man to fill the void left by Jamie Lyon's retirement.

"Blake gives us what we need. He will be a really good foil for Daly Cherry-Evans. He will take a lot of pressure off Daly, especially with his kicking game on the left edge," Barrett said.

"He has been in a good system at Melbourne under Craig Bellamy. Blake is a really great signing for us."

Storm football director Frank Ponissi said: "Blake is a quality footballer and a quality person.

"While we would have loved to see Blake remain here with us in Melbourne, we understand this decision is best for him and his family.

"The importance of his leadership and consistency has been significant for the team and we know Blake will be doing everything he can to help our club succeed in our preliminary final."

Parramatta Eels also added to their ranks on Friday, bringing in forward Nathan Brown from South Sydney Rabbitohs on a two-year contract.
