Stanton crushes huge homer, Giants end streak in MLB

Giancarlo Stanton returned to form in some style for the Miami Marlins in MLB, while the San Francisco Giants ended their losing run.

Stanton hit his first home run since winning the derby, crushing a 441-footer off Jacob deGrom in the Marlins' 7-2 victory over the New York Mets.

He went on to add three more hits for his first four-hit game since 2012 as he drove in three runs to give ace Jose Fernandez all the run support he needed.

The Giants snapped a six-game losing streak as rookie Mac Williamson hit an RBI single in the 12th inning to see them past the New York Yankees 2-1.

Evan Gattis homered twice in the Houston Astros' 7-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels and the Chicago Cubs went down to the Milwaukee Brewers 6-1.

The Cincinnati Reds were 6-1 winners over the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Washington Nationals had a 3-2 walk-off victory against the San Diego Padres.

The Baltimore Orioles overcame the Cleveland Indians 5-2, the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-4 and the Seattle Mariners thrashed the Toronto Blue Jays 14-5.

The Oakland Athletics edged the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3, the Colorado Rockies claimed an 8-4 win against the Atlanta Braves and the Minnesota Twins had an 11-9 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

The Texas Rangers enjoyed a 7-4 win over the Kansas City Royals and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the St Louis Cardinals 7-2.

With a grand slam and a three-run homer, Seattle slugger Nelson Cruz plated half of the Mariners' 14 runs.

After fielding the Giants' Ramiro Pena's double in left, Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner tossed to Didi Gregorius, who fired a strike to the plate to nab Williamson.
