Kerber, who is bidding to become world number one at the year's last grand slam, was simply too good for the 17-year-old in a 6-1 6-1 victory on Friday.
Kerber beats Bellis, sets up Kvitova clash at US Open
Angelique Kerber set up a fourth-round clash against Petra Kvitova with a win over talented American teenager CiCi Bellis at the US Open.
Bellis, a talented junior, proved no match for Kerber, whose 50th match win of the year saw her set up a meeting with Kvitova.
A two-time Wimbledon champion, Kvitova has won four of eight clashes against the German Australian Open winner.
Kerber was solid against Bellis and that was enough, rolling out to a 3-0 lead in the first set.
Bellis had her chances, but failed to convert any of her five break points in the opening set.
Kerber broke twice in the opening three games of the second before completing victory in just 55 minutes.
